Despite her deafness, she achieved numerous feats in her career as a stuntwoman and racer.

O'Neil set a women's land-speed record of 512 mph in a rocket-powered vehicle in 1976.

She also performed stunts in many popular films and TV shows, including "The Bionic Woman" and "Smokey and the Bandit II."
