₹538-crore loan fraud case: Jet Airways founder Naresh Goyal sent to Arthur Road jail

Naresh Goyal, founder of Jet Airways, has been remanded in judicial custody for 14 days.

He was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on September 1.

The case is related to defrauding Canara Bank of ₹538 crore.

Goyal was taken to Arthur Road jail after the court's decision.

He requested daily medical check-ups due to heart issues and 80% blockage in his artery.

Goyal also sought permission to meet his family members due to his wife's illness.

The court allowed him to have home-cooked food.

The ED alleges that Jet Airways diverted funds to sister concern Jet Lite Limited.

A forensic audit revealed diversion of ₹1,152 crores in consultancy fees.

Approximately ₹9.46 crore were paid to Goyal's family and domestic help.
